Key Responsibilities

  • Provide care for postpartum, antepartum, pediatric patients, newborns, GYN, and Med-Surg overflow.
  • Support and assist during labor, delivery, and postpartum processes.
  • Float to other units such as Telemetry and Med-Surg as needed, ensuring proper coverage across departments.
  • Operate medical equipment including EPIC One Chart, Acudose, Philips Vitals Machines, Bladder Scanner, Medula Breast Pumps, and Responder 5 Call Light System.
  • Maintain patient safety and comfort, adhering to clinical protocols and standards.
  • Assist in staff onboarding and fill schedule vacancies, including coverage during FMLA leaves.

Required Qualifications

  • Min 2 years OB/L&D experience.
  • Active BLS certification (American Heart Association).
  • Active ACLS (American Heart Association).
  • Active NRP certification.
  • Minnesota RN license.
  • SNSA certification and proof of registration with the State of Minnesota.
  • EPIC EMR experience (or experience with other EMR systems if applicable).
  • Willingness to float to other units such as Telemetry, Med-Surg, and Pediatrics.

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • PALS certification.
  • Experience with other electronic medical records systems.
  • Ability to handle variable shifts, including weekends.
  • Strong knowledge of labor and postpartum care, pediatric care, and GYN.

Additional Notes
Candidates must provide available interview times; the manager will reach out directly for scheduling. Candidates with prior employment at Sanford Health must have their end date at least 6 months before submission. Support staff includes ward clerks, CNAs, charge nurses, resource nurses, and LPNs, supporting a typical census of 5 couplets, 2 pediatrics, 1 GYN, 2 labor patients, and 4 patients in the Special Care Nursery. Nurse-to-patient ratios are approximately 1:3 for mom/baby, 1:5 for GYN/Med-Surg, and 1:3-4 for pediatrics. Orientation includes equipment training on the first day, with badge-in/out procedures and a navy blue scrub dress code.
Note: This is a night shift position, and candidates must be willing to float as needed.
