Registered Nurse - IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Schedule / Job Type:

Nights, 13-16 week contract, 36 or 48 hours/week, night shifts only

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage post rapid response team patients, respiratory distress, hemodynamic instability, and various post-op and specialty diagnoses in an ICU-like stepdown setting.
• Use advanced skills such as arterial lines, vasoactive drip titration, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and management of complex medical equipment including chest tubes, tracheostomies, BIPAP, and telemetry monitors.
• Administer IV insulin, blood products, and adhere to infection control and isolation precautions.
• Float as needed to sister units, including ICU, and accurately document in electronic systems like Pyxis and Epic.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for patient care, ensuring continuous monitoring and prompt response to alarms and patient changes.
• Participate in hospital orientation and complete required certifications and testing prior to start.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a telemetry, stepdown, or ICU setting
• Experience with arterial lines, vasoactive drips, and telemetry monitoring
• Current ACLS, BCLS, and NIH certifications
• Proven skills in IV starts, dysrhythmia interpretation, and sedation protocols
• Ability to recognize and treat dysrhythmias and manage invasive lines
• Willingness to work night shifts and float as required; no on-site RTO allowed post-booking

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Experience in cardiac and neuro patient management
• Prior traveler or contract nurse experience
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced ICU/Stepdown environment
