Job Title

• Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical/Telemetry

Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, night shift (12-hour nights), 36 hours per week, contract for 13 to 26 weeks

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for medical-surgical patients, managing multiple patients with varying diagnoses.
• Utilize technologies such as Pyxis and EPIC for medication administration and documentation.
• Work collaboratively within a team, floating across medical/surgical units as needed.
• Follow established patient care protocols, including IV starts and telemetry monitoring.
• Adhere to unit staffing ratios, maintaining a maximum of 1:7 during peak times.
• Participate in storm/hurricane teams and respond to disaster assignments as required.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a medical-surgical or telemetry setting.
• Experience working with traveler or temporary staff preferred.
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start.
• Active RN license in the state of North Carolina or appropriate compact license.
• Certifications: BLS (required).

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Additional certifications such as ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EPIC) and hospital pharmacy systems (Pyxis).
• Ability to work with a diverse patient population, including telemetry patients.
