Registered Nurse - IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Location: Salisbury, MD

Schedule / Job Type: Full-time, Night shifts

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and monitor high-acuity patients in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMC), providing care for critically ill patients requiring close cardiac and respiratory observation.
• Implement and evaluate individualized care plans, ensuring timely interventions for changes in patient condition.
• Administer medications, therapies, and treatments as prescribed, and document patient responses accurately.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes.
• Educate patients and their families about their conditions and care plans, advocating for patient needs.
• Respond swiftly to emergent situations, including hemodynamic or respiratory changes, utilizing advanced skills in cardiac and ventilator management.

Required Qualifications:

• Valid and active Registered Nurse license in Maryland.
• American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certification.
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Experience caring for patients with sepsis, diabetic ketoacidosis, post-open-heart surgery, or on continuous cardiac infusions.
• Familiarity with non-invasive ventilation devices such as BiPAP/CPAP.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
