Key Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients.
• Monitor patient vital signs and provide appropriate interventions.
• Administer medications and IVs, including IV starts.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Document patient care activities accurately and timely.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort, adhering to hospital policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Current and valid Registered Nurse license.
• ACLS and BCLS certifications.
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and IV starts.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced medical-surgical unit.
• Willingness to work every other weekend.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous experience in a hospital medical-surgical or telemetry unit.
• Familiarity with post-surgical patient care (e.g., gastric bypass, colectomy, mastectomy).
• Ability to handle diverse patient cases, including COPD, pneumonia, COVID-19, and chest pain.

Additional Information

• This unit cannot accommodate time off from 12/21 to 12/27.
• First-time travelers accepted; local candidates are not accepted.
• Effective 11/30/24, IN RN’s are generally not permitted to work at IU Health facilities, with certain exceptions for perioperative and outpatient RNs.
• Charge pay of $3/hour applies for this assignment.
