Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient care to medical-surgical telemetry unit and ED hold patients.
• Manage patients with complex medical conditions, including oncology, orthopedic, and urology cases.
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and operate specialized equipment such as IV pumps and bladder scanners.
• Document care and procedures accurately using electronic health records, primarily Epic.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including CNAs, unit clerks, and respiratory support staff.
• Work as part of a resource pool/float team, adjusting schedules to meet unit needs.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of recent clinical experience as a registered nurse.
• Active NY nursing license or proof of application with applied date (license processing time considered).
• BLS certification required; CMSRN certification preferred.
• NICHS certification required prior to start.
• Epic electronic medical record experience within the past 2 years.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel or float nursing experience.
• Knowledge of adult patient population, including specialized procedures such as blood draws and glucose monitoring.
• Ability to work holiday rotations and every other weekend.
• Reliable transportation is required due to limited public transit options.
