Key Responsibilities
- Provide patient-centered care in a Trauma Surgical Unit specializing in trauma, orthopedic, and urology patients.
- Float between units and hospitals as needed, covering designated shifts of 36 or 48 hours per week.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including family practice physicians, hospitalists, and surgical specialists.
- Adhere to unit policies, including holiday and weekend requirements, ensuring individualized patient attention.
- Document care accurately using the Meditech EMR system.
Required Qualifications
- Associated degree in nursing.
- Valid Alabama or Compact RN license (no temporary licenses accepted).
- BLS or Red Cross certification.
- Minimum 1-2 years of recent clinical experience, including at least 1 year in a specialized setting such as trauma or med-surg/telemetry.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in a trauma, orthopedic, or urology unit.
- Ability to float across units and adapt to different patient populations.
- Strong interdisciplinary communication skills.
