Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, outpatient clinic, hybrid/remote possible, dayshift (8:00 am – 5:00 pm), no weekends

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct a minimum of 5 patient visits per day focused on pediatric diabetic care and education
• Provide comprehensive education to pediatric patients and their families on diabetes management, insulin use, glucose monitoring, nutrition, and diabetes technologies
• Assess patients' self-management skills, identify barriers, and reinforce care plans collaboratively with healthcare providers
• Work closely with endocrinologists, nurses, dietitians, and other clinic staff to ensure continuity of care across multiple settings
• Support families in developing and adjusting individualized diabetes management strategies for home and school environments
• Assist patients with navigating insurance, obtaining medical supplies, and managing prescriptions
• Document all patient encounters accurately in the electronic medical record and ensure compliance with healthcare standards and guidelines
• Participate in quality improvement and departmental training initiatives
• Serve as a resource for staff education on pediatric diabetes standards and best practices

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) or Registered Dietitian (RD) with a Master’s degree
• Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) certification
• Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in pediatric diabetes education
• Certification in pump training with Omnipod and/or Tandem preferred
• Active South Carolina nursing or dietitian license prior to start date

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in outpatient pediatric endocrinology or diabetes clinics
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (e.g., Epic)
• Ability to work independently with a self-directed schedule
