Key Responsibilities
• Provide care to postpartum patients and their newborns, including assessments specific to mothers and babies.
• Assist with procedures such as circumcisions and initiating care for patients on Magnesium.
• Utilize unit equipment including baby scales, vitals machines, IV infusion pumps, pulse oximeters, infant warmers, and electronic charting systems.
• Educate patients and families regarding postpartum care and procedures.
• Maintain a compassionate, safe environment aligned with unit protocols.
Required Qualifications
• Valid Indiana or compact RN license.
• BLS and NRP certifications, with a preference for STABLE certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, ideally in a level 2 or higher maternity care setting.
• Ability to perform assessments specific to postpartum mothers and infants, and assist with Infant Magnesium care.
Preferred Experience / Skills
• Experience in a postpartum or labor and delivery unit.
• Familiarity with Epic electronic charting system and use of clinical equipment such as Pyxis medication system.
• Comfortable with performing assessments and educating patients and families.
