Key Responsibilities
- Provide patient care in an Intermediate Care/Progressive Care/Stepdown unit with acuity approaching ICU level.
- Monitor and manage cardiac patients, including cardiac monitoring and non-titratable cardiac drips.
- Care for patients with chest tubes, trachs, feeding tubes, epidurals, and post-surgical patients.
- Apply IV insulin protocols, manage insulin drips, and perform Doppler flap checks.
- Float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) as needed, with proper support and resources.
- Assist with charge nurse responsibilities when operational needs require.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of current RN experience in acute care settings.
- Proficiency in cardiac monitoring and management of complex patients.
- ACLS and BCLS certifications.
- Experience with chest tubes, trachs, feeding tubes, epidurals, and insulin drips.
- Ability to work nights and adapt to floating responsibilities.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with ENT, thoracic, general surgical, and urology surgeries.
- Knowledge of external BiPAP/CPAP and total laryngectomy care.
- Prior experience in surgical PCU or similar high-acuity units.
