Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized perioperative care to cardiac surgery patients in a Level 1 Trauma Center.
- Circulate during complex procedures such as heart/lung transplants, valve replacements, and aortic dissections.
- Prepare and manage equipment, including pump lines from perfusion, for cannulation.
- Float to various units as needed, maintaining current skills across multiple specialties.
- Adhere to safety protocols and ensure high-quality patient care throughout all procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Indiana or Compact State nursing license, or in the process of obtaining one (e.g., fingerprint submission).
- BLS certification.
- Experience in Level 1 Trauma Center settings with cardiac surgery procedures, especially heart/lung transplant, valve replacement, and aortic dissection.
- Strong circulatory skills, experience with pump lines, and familiarity with transplant equipment.
- Ability to work 90-120 hours of call within a 6-week schedule.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Recent experience circulating in a top-tier cardiac/transplant unit.
- Familiarity with DaVinci XI robotic surgical systems.
- Current certifications in advanced perioperative procedures.
