Key Responsibilities
- Provide patient care for individuals requiring telemetry monitoring, including those with chest pain, arrhythmias, pacemakers, or defibrillators.
- Manage complex cardiac cases utilizing telemetry systems and interpreting dysrhythmias.
- Administer and manage cardiac medication drips such as Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Milrinone, Amiodarone, Lasix, and Heparin.
- Follow hospital protocols using electronic medical records and medication systems, including EPIC and Pyxis.
- Complete 36 hours of unit orientation and support float assignments to other telemetry units as needed.
- Work collaboratively within a team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safety.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of recent telemetry nursing experience.
- Experience working with cardiac patients and dysrhythmia management.
- Ability to interpret EKGs and manage cardiac drips including indicated medications.
- Certifications: ACLS and BCLS required.
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nursing experience in a cardiac or telemetry unit.
- Familiarity with hospital systems such as EPIC and SBAR communication.
- Comfortable with managing a variety of cardiac diagnoses and patient complexities.
