Registered Nurse Operating Room

Job Title

Key Responsibilities
• Circulate in the operating room, documenting and caring for patients during surgical procedures
• Sterile prepping of surgical sites and assisting with equipment setup
• Insert catheters, position patients for surgery, and assist with sterile supplies
• Document procedures accurately within electronic health records, primarily using EPIC
• Operate and assist with OR equipment such as cautery, lasers, laparoscopic, arthroscopy, and neuro navigation tools
• Float to different units/departments (including Fargo campuses) as needed, supporting multiple ORs across campuses

Required Qualifications
• Minimum of 2 years of OR nursing experience
• Active ND or Compact RN license (willing to obtain if necessary)
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Experience with general, neuro, orthopedic, GYN, urology, and laparoscopic procedures
• Large hospital or Level 2 trauma center experience preferred
• Able to work effectively in a fast-paced OR environment
• Ability to work 8 or 10-hour shifts Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend call and late shifts

Preferred Experience / Skills
• Experience with neuro and orthopedic procedures, including navigation systems
• Prior work with Sanford Health (if applicable, must have last employment ended at least 6 months ago)
• Comfortable with electronic charting (EPIC) and operating a variety of surgical equipment
