Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Location: Wausau, WI

Schedule / Job Type: Full-time, Days shifts

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to patients of all ages in a high-acuity, 18-bed Level 2 Trauma Center emergency department.
• Assist with a variety of procedures across multiple specialties including cardiac, neuro, pediatrics, geriatrics, respiratory, and trauma.
• Utilize department-specific equipment such as computerized charting (Epic), medication dispensers (Pyxis), x-ray, lab, and respiratory equipment.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, health technicians, and ancillary staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using electronic health records.
• Support patient flow, perform assessments, and prioritize care in a fast-paced environment.

Required Qualifications:

• Valid RN license.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent ER or emergency department experience.
• Certifications: BLS, PALS, ACLS, TNCC.
• Previous experience in trauma, neuro, or specialty care preferred.
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Trauma or ER specialty background.
• Experience working with adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients.
• Prior familiarity with Epic EHR and hospital-based medication and lab systems.

Note: This position is for ER-trained RNs willing to work varied shifts, including days, with every third weekend rotation. No call required. Immediate start available.
