Schedule / Job Type
• Days, 4x10-hour shifts

Key Responsibilities
• Assist in the operating room to support surgical procedures across various service lines
• Prepare and maintain sterile fields, ensuring compliance with safety standards
• Support surgeons and staff during neuro, vascular, thoracic, orthopedic/spine, and other surgical cases
• Manage equipment and supplies needed for surgeries, including robotics and specialty cases
• Provide patient care assistance as directed before, during, and after procedures
• Participate in on-call shifts, including weekends, with availability for emergency call support

Required Qualifications
• Minimum of 1 year of OR experience with well-rounded surgical assistant skills
• Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA certification required)
• BLS certification required
• Radiation badge issued by agency is mandatory; MUSC does not provide badges
• Experience in neuro, vascular, thoracic, orthopedic/spine, and general/robotic surgeries preferred

Preferred Experience / Skills
• Experience with robotics cases such as total joints, urology, and gynecology robotic surgeries
• Ability to float between service lines and at sister facilities if needed
• Familiarity with Epic charting system
