- Travel, 13-week assignment, Night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to laboring patients in a busy hospital setting, ensuring safety and comfort.
- Support patient-driven birthing plans and promote vaginal birth opportunities.
- Monitor fetal heart rates and contractions using electronic fetal monitoring equipment.
- Assist with procedures such as IUPC placement, FSE, and management of magnesium sulfate and postpartum hemorrhage.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including midwives, CRNAs, OB on-call staff, and NICU nurses to deliver quality care.
- Document patient care accurately in hospital documentation systems (CPN and Meditech).
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Tennessee or appropriate state other than Tennessee.
- ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications.
- Experience in Labor and Delivery nursing, handling high-risk deliveries, and fetal monitoring.
- Ability to support patient preferences and promote positive birthing experiences.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Knowledge of Spinning Babies techniques and STABLE methodology.
- Experience with circulating in OR, handling high-risk procedures, and working with laborist teams.
- Comfortable supporting a high level of patient-centered care focused on natural birthing options.
