Key Responsibilities
• Provide specialized nursing care to cardiac surgical and critical cardiac patients in the CVICU.
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, monitor multi-system organ failure, and manage thermoregulation.
• Administer complex medications, including continuous IV paralytics, sedation, and vasoactive drugs.
• Utilize advanced monitoring techniques such as pulmonary artery lines, Swan-Ganz catheters, and LVAD/RVAD management.
• Assist with post-cardiac surgery care, cardiac catheterizations, and bedside procedures.
• Ensure infection prevention and use of PPE, manage ventilated patients, and perform phlebotomy and wound care.

Required Qualifications
• Active Illinois RN license.
• CPR and ACLS certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in CVICU.
• Ability to pass an EKG interpretation test.
• Epic EMR experience.

Preferred Experience / Skills
• Charge nurse experience.
• Experience with intra-aortic balloon pumps, Impella devices, and post-cardiac surgery care.
• Knowledge of CVVHD/CRRT, surgical wound management, and advanced airway management.
