Registered Nurse - IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Full-time, days shift, 4 shifts per week

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care in a 12-hour day shift setting within the IMC/PCU/Stepdown unit.
• Manage a mixed acuity patient population, including cardiovascular surgery, thoracic surgery, cardiology, endocrine, and oncology patients.
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, including post-cardiac surgery care and transcatheter procedures.
• Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, handle arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care.
• Support patients with advanced cardiac devices such as intra-aortic balloon pumps, ventricular assist devices, and ventilators.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive patient-centered care.

Required Qualifications:

• Active RN license in Indiana, compact, or eligible for pending license.
• 18 months of recent RN experience in ICU, PCU, or Stepdown units.
• ACLS and BCLS certifications required; NIH preferred.
• Ability to interpret dysrhythmias and manage complex cardiac cases.
• Willingness to work every other weekend and major holidays as scheduled.
• Experience with patient care involving advanced cardiovascular procedures and devices.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Previous charge nurse or leadership experience.
• Familiarity with telemetry and intensive care equipment.
• Experience caring for ventilated patients and managing ventilators.
• Knowledge of specialized procedures such as TAVI/TAVR, cardiac catheterizations, and sheath removals.
