Schedule / Job Type

• Nights | Full-time | 36 hours per week (3 shifts of 12 hours each)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 48-bed cardiac telemetry unit, primarily receiving patients from ED, cath lab, and other inpatient units.
• Manage patients on IV drips, including amiodarone, cardizem, dopamine, dobutamine, nitro, lasix, and insulin.
• Monitor and respond to patient needs, ensuring timely discharge, hourly rounding, and bedside shift reports.
• Collaborate with team members, utilizing team nursing approaches with PCAs (CNAs) and LPNs.
• Adapt to a fast-paced environment with quick patient turnover and flexible staffing based on unit needs.
• Ensure compliance with ACLS and BLS certifications, and maintain a high standard of patient safety and care.

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of Maryland.
• Minimum of 1 year recent experience in PCU, IMC, or Stepdown units.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Experience caring for patients post-cardiac cath, including managing drips such as amiodarone, cardizem, dopamine, dobutamine, nitro, lasix, and insulin.
• Ability to work on a fast-paced unit with quick patient turnover.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous experience working in a cardiac telemetry or stepdown unit.
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Team-oriented mindset with excellent communication skills.
