- Full-time, Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide patient care for adult and geriatric patients with various medical conditions, including Covid-19, respiratory issues, post-surgical care, and chronic illnesses.
- Monitor telemetry for patients with stable dysrhythmias and interpret cardiac rhythms.
- Administer medications, including IV insulin, blood products, and other therapies, utilizing Pyxis medication system.
- Manage wound care, wound vacs, surgical drains, and implement isolation precautions.
- Collaborate with rapid response teams and ensure patient safety through effective communication (SBAR) protocols.
- Use specialized equipment such as bladder scanners, peripheral lines, PICC lines, and perform phlebotomy and IV starts.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Medical Surgical or Telemetry units
- BLS certification
- Experience with Pyxis medication system and SBAR communication
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior charge nurse or leadership experience in Med Surg units
- Experience managing adult and geriatric patients with complex chronic conditions
- Knowledge of neuro, renal, and post-surgical patient care
