Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, Night shifts, 3 days per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient care on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit, focusing on orthopedic and trauma patients.
• Manage preoperative and postoperative orthopedic patients, including those with elective and trauma conditions.
• Utilize EPIC electronic health records to document patient information accurately.
• Administer medications and treatments following established protocols, ensuring patient safety.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate patient care and ensure quality outcomes.
• Maintain compliance with safety and patient handling procedures, including use of specialized orthopedic equipment.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a hospital setting.
• BLS certification is required; ACLS is preferred.
• Experience with orthopedic and trauma patient care is mandatory.
• Knowledge of EPIC electronic health record systems.
• Ability to manage a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 (potentially stretched to 1:7).
• Pass/Fail EKG exam required upon hire.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with total hip, knee, and shoulder replacements and repairs.
• Familiarity with orthopedic trauma care.
• Knowledge of safe patient handling equipment and orthopedic devices such as CPM machines and knee immobilizers.
• Prior experience using Rapid Response Teams.
