Full-time, night shifts, 3 shifts per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit, focusing on orthopedic and trauma patients.
• Utilize EPIC electronic health record system for documentation and coordination of care.
• Assist with pre-operative and post-operative orthopedic procedures, including total joint replacements and repairs.
• Collaborate with Rapid Response Teams and other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety.
• Implement safe patient handling techniques and utilize orthopedic-specific equipment such as CPM machines, knee immobilizers, and bone foam.
• Adhere to all clinical policies, including mandatory compliance deadlines and safety protocols.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a hospital setting; no first-time travelers.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Experience with orthopedic and trauma patient care, including elective and trauma cases.
• Knowledge of EPIC electronic health records system.
• Ability to assist with pre-op and post-op orthopedic procedures and use orthopedic equipment.
• Flexibility to work nights and complete scheduled shifts with reliable attendance.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with orthopedic trauma and elective surgeries, especially total joint replacements.
• Familiarity with orthopedic equipment such as CPM, knee immobilizers, and orthopedic trauma protocols.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:6, potentially stretching to 1:7.

Schedule Notes

• Night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, every other weekend.
• One holiday shift and one evening shift during the holiday period.
• No call shifts.
