Key Responsibilities
- Provide acute patient care in the IMC/PCU/Stepdown units for adult patients.
- Monitor and intervene for patients with cardiac, respiratory, or post-procedure needs.
- Administer medications, including drips and IVs, and perform required procedures such as starting IVs and post-cardiac cath care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans.
- Utilize Epic EMR system for documentation and patient data management.
- Float to other units as needed to meet patient care demands, ensuring all care standards are maintained.
Required Qualifications
- Valid NY state RN license or proof of application with applied date.
- Minimum of 1 year of tele or acute care experience.
- Current AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (NIHSS required prior to start).
- Experience with insulin and cardiac drips, starting IVs, and post-cardiac cath care.
- Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nurse experience preferred.
- Knowledge of telemetry monitoring and cardiac care protocols.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to dynamic care environments.

Additional Information
- This assignment starts around December 15th for approximately 16–32 weeks.
- Travel rate: $100/hour; local rate: $90/hour; within 51-100 miles: $95/hour.
- Must work two out of three major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s).
- No block schedules; bi-weekly orientations; all employment gaps over 90 days must be explained.
- Reliable transportation is essential; vehicle with all-season tires recommended from November to April.
- Facility: 341-bed teaching hospital, Level 2 trauma, acute inpatient telemetry.
- Nurses will float as needed, primarily within the resource float team.
- Dress code: navy blue or white scrubs, closed-toe nonskid shoes, minimal jewelry.
- Shift hours: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (schedule posted in advance).
- Patient population includes cardiac, respiratory, post-procedure, and acute diagnoses requiring close monitoring.
