- Full-time, 12-hour night shifts, 4 shifts per week, contract
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care for patients in IMC, PCU, and Stepdown units, including post-op cardiac management and pre/post-operative care.
- Monitor and interpret telemetry, including cardiac drips, strips, and other advanced cardiac patient needs.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care for complex cases such as CABG, valve surgeries, TAVR, and thoracic procedures.
- Qualified to perform IV starts, interpret EKGs, and respond promptly to patient needs in a fast-paced environment.
- Support patient recovery and safety during pre and post-operative periods, including lung and chest tube management.
- Adhere to infection control protocols, including N95 fitting and PPE usage.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
- Minimum of 1.5 years of relevant clinical experience, including some level 1 or 2 ICU or PCU experience (ICU experience alone does not qualify)
- Experience with CABG and Valve replacement patients required
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system
- Ability to pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, IV skills, NIH, and ability to read/interp strips
- Must have at least some experience with a 1:4-6 patient ratio in the last work history
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Travel nursing experience preferred
- Experience floating between different hospital campuses and units, including high-risk respiratory COVID units
- Prior experience working in fast-paced, specialty cardiac or thoracic units
