Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Medical Surgical unit, managing a variety of diagnoses including ostomy, colon resection, colon cancer, bladder cancer, and urological conditions.
• Administer medications and treatments such as blood products, IV therapies, Heparin, Insulin, PCA, epidurals, and CBI (continuous bladder irrigation).
• Perform specific procedures including colostomy care, feeding tube management, blood draws via central lines and peripheral lines, starting IVs, and managing PICC lines.
• Monitor patients remotely using telemetry equipment and respond to clinical needs promptly.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure quality patient outcomes and adhere to hospital protocols.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license with pending or active state licensure.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical Surgical or Telemetry units.
• Certifications in BLS (Basic Life Support).
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system.
• Experience with patient populations including those with ostomy, colorectal surgeries, and urologic conditions.
• Ability to manage multiple clinical tasks such as IV starts, medication infusions, and telemetry monitoring.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with complex medication drips including Heparin, Bivalirudin, and Amiodarone.
• Knowledge of telemonitoring systems.
• Experience working in a magnet, teaching, or Level I trauma hospital.

Additional Details

• Position available for 16-week assignments with start dates on 12/8 or 1/5.
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week.
• Open to candidates with a valid license, regardless of experience with Epic or tele monitoring.
• No on-call required, and clinicians may float within scope to meet unit needs.
• No remote monitoring skills required, but basic tele knowledge is preferred.
• Must be located at least 75 miles from the facility.
