Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, 12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to cardiac and respiratory patients in a stepdown unit.
• Manage and interpret cardiac telemetry, including dysrhythmia management and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips.
• Assist with procedures such as cardiac catheterizations and monitor post-procedure patients.
• Administer and manage respiratory support devices, including BIPAP, CPAP, and tracheostomy care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in the use of Rapid Response Teams.
• Ensure compliance with all unit policies, including schedule adherence and accurate documentation.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of registered nursing experience, preferably in cardiac/telemetry units.
• Cardiac PCU or stepdown nursing experience.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Ability to interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, and IV drips (cardiac, Vasoactive).
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system.
• Strong assessment and procedural skills related to cardiac and respiratory patient care.
• Comfortable working 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratios and managing patient care during nights.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous charge nurse experience.
• Experience with oxygen therapy devices like Bipap and Pleur-evac.
• NIH certification preferred.
• Familiarity with Rapid Response Teams and external monitoring systems.
