Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the circulating nurse in the operating room, ensuring safe and efficient surgical procedures.
- Prepare patients by reviewing medical histories, reconciling medications, obtaining vital signs, starting IVs, and administering preoperative medications.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and manage post-anesthesia recovery.
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia teams, and OR staff to provide high-quality patient care.
- Assist with patient discharge procedures, including providing instructions and assist with patient transfer.
- Support a variety of surgical specialties, including Orthopedics, Interventional Radiology, and Gastroenterology.
Required Qualifications
- Valid SC or Compact Nursing License
- BLS Certification
- Radiation badge (provided by employer)
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant RN experience in a surgical environment
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience within specialties such as Orthopedics, ENT, Gynecology, Urology, Endocrine, Surgical Oncology, Plastics, Robotics, Total Joints, or related areas
- Well-rounded surgical nursing background, excluding general surgery, L&D, or pediatrics
