Registered Nurse Labor and Delivery
Job Title
• Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery
Location
• Fort Wayne, IN
Schedule / Job Type
• Full-time, night shifts, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, involving at least 6 weekend shifts, with no call requirement.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring patients, supporting vaginal and cesarean deliveries.
• Monitor and care for mother and newborn pairs (couplets) during and after delivery.
• Utilize specialized equipment including computerized charting, fetal monitoring, and medication systems.
• Document patient care using electronic health records such as EPIC Stork and Centricity systems.
• Collaborate with a team of shift nurse leads and L&D RNs to ensure quality patient care across shifts.
• Float between designated hospital units as needed, based on operational requirements.
Required Qualifications
• Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience.
• Ability to circulate C-section procedures.
• Valid compact or IN state RN license.
• Certifications required: NRP, BLS, ACLS (through AHA), and STABLE.
Preferred Experience / Skills
• Experience with EPIC Stork documentation and fetal monitoring systems.
• Prior experience working with pediatric or neonatal care teams.
