Key Responsibilities
- Provide psychiatric nursing care in the Emergency Department for a diverse patient population, including pediatric to geriatric patients.
- Manage patients with acute and chronic mental health conditions, ensuring safety and treatment adherence.
- Assess patient needs, administer medications, and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams for medical and psychological interventions.
- Float to different units as required, demonstrating flexibility and clinical competence.
- Work collaboratively with staff to support a safe, compassionate, and culturally sensitive environment.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and policies, especially during holiday work requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Valid nursing license on file at the time of submission
- AHA BLS certification
- CPI, ProAct, or MOAB certification
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, including prior travel or acute psych experience in a large teaching facility
- EIC (Emergency In-Clinic) experience within the past 2 years, non-negotiable
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working with acute psychiatric patients in an emergency setting
- Strong clinical skills in managing safety and behavioral challenges
- Reliable transportation, personal or rental vehicle, equipped for winter conditions (November-April)
