Key Responsibilities

• Review patients' medical charts to confirm treatment prescriptions, timing, and dosage.
• Assist Radiation Oncologist and Medical Physicist in patient simulation, localization, and treatment planning.
• Prepare and position patients accurately for radiation therapy, ensuring safety and precision.
• Explain procedures to patients, address concerns, and inform about possible side effects and care instructions.
• Operate advanced radiation therapy equipment, including linear accelerators and CT simulators.
• Maintain inventory and ensure availability of supplies needed for procedures.
• Perform quality control tests on treatment equipment and document results.
• Fabricate custom treatment devices as required for individual patient needs.

Required Qualifications

• ARRT certification and Illinois IEMA licensure as a Radiation Therapist.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in radiation therapy.
• Knowledge of radiation therapy procedures, equipment operation, and patient care techniques.
• Effective communication skills to coordinate with medical team and patients.
• Ability to interpret physician prescriptions and accurately execute treatment plans.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Varian Halcyon linear accelerator and treatment planning systems.
• Familiarity with medical imaging and simulation procedures.
