Key Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons during operative and invasive procedures, ensuring the operating suite is properly prepared and sterile.
• Prepare OR with all necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment for each surgical case.
• Handle and care for surgical specimens with accuracy and care.
• Assist in patient positioning, prepping, and draping for surgeries.
• Maintain accurate counts of instruments, sponges, and needles, and address discrepancies per protocol.
• Follow strict aseptic techniques and safety procedures to ensure patient and staff safety.
• Support instrument sterilization, room cleaning, and restocking activities between procedures.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to facilitate smooth, efficient surgeries and maintain a high standard of patient care.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program.
• Current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from the NBSTSA.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience working in a surgical setting.
• Knowledge of sterilization processes and surgical instrument handling.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds regularly, with occasional ability to handle up to 100 pounds.
