Registered Nurse - PACU
Location: Holdrege, NE
Schedule / Job Type: Full-time, rotating shifts, 12-hour shifts

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage, organize, and provide nursing care for patients of all ages in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit under physician supervision.
• Assess patients' physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs, documenting symptoms and changes in condition.
• Utilize the nursing process to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Administer medications safely following the “Five Rights” of medication administration.
• Educate patients and families tailored to their age and learning abilities.
• Assist operating staff, including Operating Practitioners and CRNAs, during procedures.
• Participate in sterilization, case set-up, and inventory management of supplies and instruments.
• Prepare and clean patient rooms, surgical instruments, and supplies as scheduled.
• Perform circulating and scrub nurse duties as assigned, including assisting in sterile processing and endoscopy.
• Maintain a safe, comfortable environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Organize daily tasks to optimize patient care and department efficiency.
• Follow hospital policies, infection control protocols, and universal precautions.
• Maintain current skills with BLS, ACLS, and necessary continuing education.
• Contribute to Quality Assurance initiatives within the OR department.
• Communicate effectively across departments and uphold a professional and positive demeanor.

Required Qualifications:

• Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Nebraska.
• BLS/CPR certification.
• ACLS certification.
• Bachelor’s degree (BSN), Associate’s degree (ADN), or diploma from an accredited nursing school.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Prior experience in perioperative or PACU nursing.
• Knowledge of sterile procedures and surgical environment protocols.
