Job Title
• Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

• Lincoln, ME

Schedule / Job Type
• Full-time, shift: Days, 4 shifts per week

Key Responsibilities
• Perform initial age-appropriate nursing assessments and ongoing reassessments for emergency room patients.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans based on assessments and physician orders.
• Administer medications safely, utilizing the "five rights," and evaluate patient responses.
• Provide patient education, discharge planning, and follow-up calls to ensure understanding of care and treatment plans.
• Document patient care activities accurately and in compliance with hospital policies and standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, participate in bedside rounding, and support hospital quality improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications
• Active nursing license for Maine or a compact state.
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years recent emergency department experience.
• Immunizations including varicella, HepB, MMR, Tdap, and PPD within the past 12 months or declination (HepB only).
• Ability to problem solve, communicate effectively, and provide age-appropriate nursing care across all populations.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, sit, kneel, reach, lift up to 30 lbs, and perform patient transfers.
• Knowledge of infection control procedures, medication administration, and emergency response protocols.

Preferred Experience / Skills
• BSN degree.
• Knowledge of hospital policies and the Nursing Practice Act.
• Experience working in a fast-paced emergency environment with diverse patient needs.
