Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to adult surgical patients in a 34-bed unit.
• Perform preoperative and postoperative nursing duties, including patient assessments, monitoring, and education.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and use equipment such as vital signs monitors, IV and PCA pumps, and EMR/charting systems.
• Collaborate with healthcare team during procedures such as abdominal surgeries, mastectomies, thyroidectomies, and chest tube management.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and maintain accurate documentation and records.
• Float to other units as needed, providing safe and effective care across departments.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Hawaii Registered Nurse license (must be obtained prior to start if not currently held).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an RN, with proficiency in surgical pre/postoperative care.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including floating to different units/departments.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with adult surgical patients, including abdominal, chest, and endocrine surgeries.
• Familiarity with hospital equipment such as EMR systems, Pyxis medication dispensing, and vital signs technology.
• Strong interdisciplinary communication skills and adaptability to shift rotations.
