Schedule / Job Type
- Travel, Full-time, 13-week assignment, nights shift, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, working 3 nights per week, including every other weekend
Key Responsibilities
- Provide patient care in a Medical Surgical unit within a hospital setting
- Monitor and interpret EKG rhythms, administer cardiac, insulin, and heparin drips
- Perform procedures such as peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, chest tube insertions, NG/dobhoff tube insertions, and central line dressing changes
- Assist with wound vac management and troubleshoot equipment
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient care using Meditech system
- Communicate effectively with patients and team members, utilizing hourly rounding and communication boards
Required Qualifications
- Valid BLS and ACLS certifications
- Critical thinking skills with experience in EKG rhythm interpretation
- Experience managing cardiac drips, insulin, and heparin drips
- Expertise with bipaps, high-flow O2, and oxygen delivery systems
- Peripheral IV skills and experience with stroke and post-cardiac cath care
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Peritoneal dialysis experience
- Experience with tube feedings and NG/dobhoff tubes
- Ability to perform procedures such as thoracentesis and chest tube insertions
