Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care to cardiac ICU patients, including post-operative, TAVRs, Ablations, Watchmen, and heart failure patients.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, titrate IV drips, and manage complex cardiovascular devices such as Swan Ganz catheters, external pacemakers, PICC lines, CVCs, and arterial lines.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
• Utilize advanced assessment and critical thinking skills to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Read and interpret telemetry strips accurately; handle ventilators and troubleshoot respiratory equipment for ventilated patients.
• Float between units as needed, including the main ICU or other levels of care.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Illinois Registered Nurse license or proof of active application.
• Minimum of 2 years CVICU or Cardiac ICU experience.
• BLS certification; ACLS preferred.
• Experience with cardiovascular monitoring, titration of multiple IV drips (dopamine, dobutamine, vasopressors, sedatives, insulin, heparin, etc.), and use of specialized cardiac equipment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal training, fast-paced environment, and manage complex patient needs immediately.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• CCRN or PCCN certification.
• Experience with post-op cardiac patients, EP procedures, VAD, transplant, or IABP.
• Proficiency in interpreting telemetry strips and troubleshooting ventilators and other respiratory equipment.
• Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
