Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, contract (travel assignment), night shifts, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week, floating between departments and locations within 20 miles

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to an assigned group of ICU patients during scheduled shifts, utilizing the nursing process.
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document patient needs, responses, and actions taken.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate care.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, following protocols and policies.
• Ensure patient safety, comfort, and education, including discharge planning and family support.
• Supervise and guide LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel as necessary.
• Complete competency testing related to age-specific procedures and protocols.
• Must pass on-site Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test before starting the assignment; failure to pass results in contract cancellation.

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse license in the state of New Mexico or a Compact State.
• BLS certification through American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or equivalent.
• ACLS certification through American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or equivalent.
• NIHSS certification.
• Two years of current ICU experience and at least one previous 13-week travel assignment.
• Ability to work flexible, fast-paced environment and be a team player.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• EPIC electronic health record experience (training available onsite).
• Experience with basic cardiac arrhythmia (BCA) testing protocols.
