Key Responsibilities
- Assist during surgical procedures by maintaining a sterile field and providing instrumentation to the surgical team.
- Ensure operating room environment safety, proper equipment functioning, and adherence to sterile protocols.
- Monitor the sterile field for contamination or issues, initiating corrective actions as needed.
- Support the perioperative team with patient transports, room turnovers, and preparation.
- Model professional, effective communication and collaboration during surgical procedures.
- Maintain current knowledge of surgical technologies, instrumentation, and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Surgical Technologist in the state of Colorado.
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or eligible to obtain certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stakes healthcare environment.
- English proficiency for reading, writing, and communication.
- Basic computer skills to complete online training and documentation.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Completion of a Certified Surgical Technologist program or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a surgical or perioperative setting.
- Familiarity with AORN standards and aseptic techniques.
