Schedule / Job Type
- Travel, Full-time, 13-week assignment, overnight shift (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM), working 3 nights per week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care for patients with cardiac, pulmonary, and other complex conditions in a stepdown/telemetry unit
- Monitor patient vitals and administer titratable cardiac medications such as nitroglycerine, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, insulin drips, and heparin
- Perform bedside procedures including cardioversion
- Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Document patient information accurately in hospital EMR system
- Follow unit policies and dress code, and participate in orientation and unit guidelines
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in the state of North Carolina
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum of 2 years of recent stepdown or telemetry nursing experience
- Experience with titratable cardiac IV medications (e.g., nitroglycerine, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, insulin drips, heparin)
- Ability to float to MedSurg, COVID unit, and ER holding as needed
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with prostacyclins (e.g., Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin)
- Relief charge nurse experience
- Flexible, positive attitude, team-oriented, compassionate caregiver
