Schedule / Job Type
- Travel, Night shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM), 13-week assignment, working 3 shifts per week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients in the telemetry unit, managing 6-7 patients per shift
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and notify the healthcare team of any abnormalities
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including TPN, PCA, wound vacs, and IV therapies
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care
- Document patient status and care activities accurately in the electronic health record (Cerner)
- Ensure patient safety and comfort while adhering to unit policies and protocols
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS certification
- Telemetry competency and experience in managing cardiac patients
- Ability to manage 6-7 patients depending on shift
- Experience with urology and bowel patient populations preferred
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with procedures such as NG tubes, colostomies, urostomies, and drains
- Knowledge of medications including heparin drips and IV antibiotics
- Positive, engaging personality with strong communication skills in a fast-paced environment
