Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical
Location: Fargo, ND
Schedule / Job Type: Night shifts / Full-time, 12-hour shifts
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide inpatient nursing care for adult trauma, medical, and surgical patients in a busy Level One trauma center.
- Conduct assessments, administer medications, and execute skills related to adult medical-surgical care.
- Document patient information electronically using EPIC, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Float to various Medical Surgical units across multiple locations as needed, supporting patient needs and unit operations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver quality patient care, including education and discharge planning.
- Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols, including badge-in/out procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year recent Medical Surgical RN experience in a large hospital setting (200+ beds).
- Active ND or Compact RN license.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Proficiency in EPIC electronic documentation and inpatient equipment (AcuDose, etc.).
- Ability to float across units and locations as needed.
- Willingness to work 12-hour night shifts, including every other weekend and holiday.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
- Prior travel nursing experience.
- Experience working in a level one trauma center.
- Familiarity with EPIC, AcuDose, and TJC Hip Fracture Program certification.

Additional Information:
- Must self-schedule shifts; guaranteed days off are as per contract.
- Schedule may include rotating days and nights every three weeks, based on unit needs.
- The unit comprises a 32-bed census with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5 during days and 1:5-6 during nights.
- Candidates must have recent travel experience preferred, and those who previously worked for the facility should have an end date at least 6 months prior to application.
- Candidates living within 80 miles of Fargo are eligible for local rates; those living 60-80 miles will receive a reduced travel rate.
