Schedule / Job Type
- Travel, 13-week assignment, nights shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care for newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
- Monitor and assess neonatal patient conditions, including level 2 newborns requiring phototherapy and blood sugar management
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and comfort
- Document patient care activities accurately in the electronic medical record (Meditech and CPN)
- Maintain a warm, compassionate, and professional demeanor, ensuring a positive environment for patients and families
Required Qualifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- Stable nursing license in the state of Texas
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous experience in a NICU or Neonatal nursery setting
- Mother-baby or neonatal-specific care experience
- Ability to handle multiple neonatal procedures and emergencies efficiently
