Travel Nursing – 3 nights per week, 12-hour night shifts, rotating weekends and holidays
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to oncology and MedSurg patients, including those with sickle cell crises, diabetes, COPD, pneumonia, and other acute or chronic conditions.
- Monitor and manage patient care using PCAs, telemetry, and EPIC electronic health records.
- Administer medications (excluding chemo) and operate PCA pumps safely.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver patient-centered oncology care, from diagnosis through end-of-life support.
- Float as required across multiple Cone Health campuses, adapting to different unit needs.
- Maintain strict adherence to clinical protocols, including participation in required certifications.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of recent RN experience, specifically in oncology or MedSurg.
- Valid RN license and compliance with all licensing requirements.
- Experience with EPIC electronic health records and PCA pumps.
- Knowledge of oncology patient care, including familiarity with chemo precautions (not administering chemo).
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Must pass the Pass/Fail EKG exam required for all RN staff at Cone Health.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Strong telemedicine monitoring and interpretation skills.
- Experience with sickle cell pain crisis management.
- Previous travel nursing experience, with preference for experienced travelers only.

- Candidates should be aware of the compliance deadline for onboarding documentation, which is 12 Noon EST on the Wednesday prior to the start date.
- Floating between different hospitals and units is required; no chemo administration.
