Registered Nurse ICU
Job Title
- Registered Nurse - ICU
Location
- Hilo, HI
Schedule / Job Type
- Rotating shifts, 36 hours per week, including day and night shifts, with some call shifts every 4 weeks; 12-hour shifts
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive critical care nursing to ICU patients, utilizing advanced procedures and equipment
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols
- Monitor patient vital signs closely and respond promptly to changes in patient conditions
- Document patient care accurately in medical records
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient care plans
- Float to other critical care and step-down units as needed to support staffing needs
Required Qualifications
- Valid Hawaii RN license (must be obtained if not currently active)
- Minimum of 3 years of ICU experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Proficiency with Meditech healthcare information system
- Ability to be flexible with shift scheduling (day/night shifts)
- Certification in NIH Stroke Scale (or willingness to complete online orientation)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in a Level 1 or Level 2 ICU setting
- Strong critical thinking and communication skills
- Ability to adapt to float assignments across departments
