- Rotating shifts, 3x12 hours (Day and Night shifts)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high acuity nursing care in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), managing patients with conditions such as injury, respiratory failure, shock, multi-system failure, poisonings, near drowning, and post-op cardiac and neurosurgical care.
- Monitor and operate ventilators, multiple monitors including CVP and EKG, and administer medications as prescribed.
- Float within scope to support unit needs, including potential assignments to NICU and CVPICU.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, documentation standards, and safety protocols.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional care to critically ill pediatric patients.
Required Qualifications
- California RN license (or ETA with expected posting date)
- Minimum of 2 years recent independent PICU experience within the last year
- BLS and PALS certifications
- Experience with ventilators, monitors (CVP, EKG)
- Ability to work flexible days and nights, including holidays (2 out of 3 holidays)
- Willingness to float within scope and support other units as needed
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred; first-timers considered with strong PICU background
- Experience working in a Level 1 trauma and teaching hospital environment
- Ability to adapt to variable shifts and hospital protocols
