Key Responsibilities
- Provide independent nursing care in a neonatal intensive care setting, utilizing the nursing process for assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of neonatal patients and their families.
- Administer medications and treatments according to protocols, monitor for side effects, and evaluate treatment effectiveness.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medication administration, and ongoing care activities.
- Assess learning needs of patients and families, providing education and resources as appropriate.
- Make appropriate assignments and delegate tasks to other care providers to support optimal patient outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (preferred)
- Valid RN license in Texas or a compact state
- BLS certification (American Heart Association only)
- Current STABLE certification from a recognized course
- Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
Preferred Experience / Skills
- At least 1 year of nursing experience in a NICU or related neonatal setting.
- Experience with Perinatal RN Residency programs or recent practice in neonatal care.
