- Full-time, night shifts, 3x12-hour shifts per week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care for adult and geriatric patients with a variety of medical conditions, including COVID-19, postoperative recovery, diabetes, renal disease, COPD, pneumonia, and cellulitis.
- Monitor patients using telemetry systems, interpret dysrhythmias, and manage telemetry equipment on the unit.
- Administer medications via Pyxis system, manage IV insulin protocols, and perform wound and ostomy care.
- Assist with pre/post hemodialysis, blood product administration, phlebotomy, and manage surgical drains and chest tubes.
- Ensure patient safety through proper use of isolation precautions, oxygen therapy, and wound management.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and utilize SBAR communication for effective patient care.
Required Qualifications
- Valid state nursing license in hand at time of submission
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a Medical Surgical or Telemetry setting
- Current BLS certification
- Experience with Pyxis medication system and telemetry monitoring
- Ability to interpret dysrhythmias and manage related patient care
- Must provide a recent profile document, including finalized RTO and all current certifications, and disclose any license or background hits at submission
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous charge nurse or supervisory experience
- Experience with COVID-19 patient care and infectious disease precautions
- Familiarity with fast-paced, multi-condition medical-surgical units
