Key Responsibilities
- Provide acute care in a busy Emergency Room environment for adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients.
- Manage higher patient ratios of 1:5 or more, adapting to fluctuating census.
- Administer medications, perform IV starts, and conduct EKGs.
- Use Epic EMR system for documentation; experience required.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team, including respiratory and crisis clinicians.
- Follow unit-specific protocols for patient care and safety.
Required Qualifications
- Valid New York State RN license or proof of application with applied date.
- Minimum of 1 year of ER or emergency department experience.
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC (TNCC must be active or proof of class prior to start).
- NIHSS certification required prior to start.
- Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including rotating day and night shifts.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred.
- Charge nurse experience and familiarity with higher patient ratios preferred.
- Experience managing various patient populations, including psychiatric, COVID, and boarded patients.

Additional Information
- Travel rates: $105/hour; local rate: $95/hour; radius: 51-100 miles.
- Must work 2 out of the 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s.
- No call requirements; no block scheduling; shifts are 12 hours long, with a rotating schedule.
- Orientation: 20-24 hours, bi-weekly on Mondays.
- Reliable transportation is required; vehicles should have all-season or snow tires during winter months.
- Emergency department is equipped with Phillips MP40 monitors, IV pumps, and respiratory support available 24/7.
- Nurse may be responsible for boarded patients and special populations; cell phone use is prohibited during shifts.
