• Full-time, Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, 4 shifts per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient care within the IMC, PCU, and Stepdown units, following hospital protocols and standards.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, manage dysrhythmias, and respond to rapid response calls.
• Administer IV medications, including heparin, vasoactive drips, and sedation.
• Care for ventilated patients, including managing chest tubes, BIPAP, and high-flow oxygen equipment.
• Perform wound care and manage surgical drains, including skin grafts and other post-operative procedures.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Illinois registered nursing license.
• Minimum of 1.5 years of RN experience in acute care, specifically in telemetry, neuro, or stepdown units.
• Current BLS and NIH certifications; ACLS preferred.
• Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and perform emergency responses.
• Experience with IV therapy, including PICC lines, arterial lines, and blood product administration.
• Comfortable floating within scope to meet unit and hospital needs.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a Level I Trauma or teaching hospital environment.
• Experience with Cerner electronic charting system.
• Prior work in neurosurgery, orthopedics, or plastic surgery units.
• Knowledge of infection control procedures, isolation precautions, and wound vac management.

Additional Notes

• Travel compliance and documentation requirements must be completed prior to start.
• Floating is required within hospital and to nearby facilities.
• Must be able to work 2 of 3 major holidays.
• Candidates must have active IL RN license and in-hand at submission.
• Local candidates accepted; no radius restrictions.
• No on-call requirement; guaranteed hours within scheduled shifts.
