Job Title
• Registered Nurse - Cardiac Stepdown

Key Responsibilities
• Monitor cardiac patients in a specialized stepdown unit
• Administer and titrate cardiac drips such as Diltiazem and Amiodarone
• Manage post-cardiac catheterization and post-cardiac surgery patients
• Interpret dysrhythmias and utilize remote monitoring systems
• Access ports, manage blood products, and care for central and PICC lines
• Perform sheath pulls, sheath management with TR Bands and Femstop devices

Required Qualifications
• Minimum of 2 years’ RN experience, including telemetry and PCU/IMC/Stepdown units
• Experience in interpretation of dysrhythmias and remote monitoring required
• Knowledge of post-cardiac cath procedures and sheath management required
• Valid NC or compact state RN license, in hand at start date
• ACLS certification required

Preferred Experience / Skills
• Charge nurse experience
• NIH certification

Additional Notes

• Shifts: 12-hour nights, 18:45 – 07:15
• Contract lengths: 13 to 26 weeks, with potential for extension
• Float required as needed, with potential to float every shift; candidates must be comfortable floating within scope and unit flexibility
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Travel compliance: candidates must go into the lab within 48 hours of signing and complete all testing within this timeframe
• RTO: Up to 7 days approved for non-holiday requests; more only with facility approval.
• Candidates are expected to work 2 of 3 major holidays.
• Clinical systems include Epic and Pyxis; orientation: 24 hours
• Candidates must be willing to work as part of storm/hurricane teams and during catastrophic events

Note:
All candidates must meet travel compliance requirements and disclose prior employment with the facility. No current travel Per Diem clinicians are eligible for this assignment. Floating within hospital and to nearby affiliates is expected and required.
